Formerly called The Rose & Crown, the pub has always been known locally as The Legstraps or sometimes just “The Straps”. Farm workers tied string or leather straps around their trouser leg bottoms to stop pests climbing up their legs at harvest time. There used to be a rack to hang them up in the old public bar. .

It offers a unique dining experience in an elegant, period country house with a conservatory, fine paintings and antiques. Ideal for that special occasion, business dinners or lunches, or just simply a night out. Their Head Chef Lorenzo with his team Mohammed, Vita, Ivan and Abdelrahman have created an inspiring and tempting menu for you to enjoy, with innovative flavours and textures. Extra seating is now available in their elegant dining room and new contemporary conservatory. Outdoor seating is also available in their Walled Garden, or on the lawn for a pre-dinner drink, or coffee after your meal. 

Box End Park (www.boxendpark.com). A 10 minute drive from The Stable Yard. Incorporating premium water ski and wakeboarding facilities, lakeside bar, fine dining restaurant and meeting rooms. 

Bodyflight (https://twinwoodsadventure.com/fly). An experience you can’t get anywhere else. You can Fly, Surf, Race, Jump and Climb in one venue. Only a short car journey from The Stable Yard.

Xscape Milton Keynes (https://xscapemiltonkeynes.co.uk/). 10 miles from The Stable Yard. It offers a multitude of activities from bowling, the world famous Snozone and Casino. There are also plenty of places to shop, eat and drink late into the night.

Located on the edge of the beautiful market town of Woburn.  The house and the Safari Park is only accessible by car. Drive through the Road Safari wild animal reserves. Wind up your windows, buckle up and get ready to meet the wildlife as your Safari adventure begins in the Savannah Grasslands reserve. Then head to the leisure area and Foot Safari and park for free. There are many exciting activities are included in your ticket price. Woburn village also offers a great range of restaurants and bistros together with shops, antique and craft fairs during the year 

(www.shuttleworth.org). Opened to the public in 1963. The exhibits are within six large hangars and the engineering workshop. Shuttleworth is home to a living working collection of exhibit of aircrafts and vehicles from 1904 onwards. With regular air show events.  It has a restaurant, playcentre and a gift centre that makes for a great family day out. 

The Marston Vale covers 225 hectares and is a fabulous mix of woodland, grassland, meadow, lakes and wetland habitats criss-crossed by 17 kilometres of traffic free, surfaced cycle paths, grass footpaths and bridleways. There’s a fantastic surfaced path that takes walkers through the beautiful Wetlands Nature Reserve . The jewel at the heart of the Country Park. There are seasonal maps on the site. A great day out in the heart of the Forest and they’re officially one of the best parks and green spaces in the country!

Cyclists. Enjoy the ‘Figure of Eight’ surfaced track which is fully signposted; two 4 km loops that start and finish at the Forest Centre with maps situated at every entry point into the Park.
